Job Overview

Legacy Supply Chain is hiring experienced Class A Yard Drivers for our client, GE Appliances, working out of Roper Corporation in LaFayette, GA. As a Class A Yard Driver you will be responsible for moving trailers to and from the dock doors as necessary. Mandatory overtime is possible and likely. This is a direct hire full time position that offers competitive compensation with paid holidays, vacation, and 401k plan with up to a 5% company match.

Schedule and Compensation

  • Monday thru Thursday – 10 hour shifts with overtime likely on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • Starting pay is $25.00 per hour with overtime after 40 hours.
  • Mandatory overtime is possible and likely.

Job Details

What to expect as a Class A Yard Driver:

  • Prioritize work load
  • Perform inspection of vehicle prior to and after operation
  • Move trailers in and out of dock as directed by management.
  • Chock trailers as they are spotted for loading and unloading
  • Orderly maintenance of the yard
  • Inspection of trailers prior to loading
  • Will be responsible for inputting data into a Yard Management System.
  • Maintain a Level of Service within a 2 hour turn around
  • Ensure cleanliness of work area is maintained
  • Ensure Health and Safety requirements are met
  • Other duties as needed or assigned

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A CDL License
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Yard Spotting experience is highly preferred
  • Minimum 18 months of verifiable work experience
  • Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) and background
  • Current DOT medical card, or the ability to obtain one
  • Abide by all OSHA rules, DOT regulations and Legacy SCS Safety Practices
