Job Summary:

Under direct supervisor, the incumbent will learn the responsibilities and functions performed of multiple corporate intermodal positions by rotating among several different functional areas, developing an intimate knowledge of the entire Intermodal business.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities: • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while learning the systems and processes of JB Hunt Intermodal operations • Build, nurture and maintain strong relationships with key rail personnel to achieve optimal communication for on-time service execution • Analyze equipment needs to ensure utilization of company and non-company assets are met for all parties involved • Provide communication, problem solving, and service implementation plans to ensure excellent customer service • Manage intermodal shipments moving on trains, ensuring that units depart origins and are available at destinations per railroad provided goals • Identify and maintain key performance indicators for each rotation. Regularly meet with various internal departments to review performance

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification: High School Diploma/GED with 1-2 years of experience in the Transportation/Logistics industry, &/or military equivalent.
Preferred Qualification: Bachelors Degree or 3-4 years of experience in the Transportation/Logistics industry
AND/OR Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences:
Ability to focus activities on developing and maintaining positive customer relationships
Proven experience in establishing and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers
Experience in fostering strong customer relationships via delivery on commitments, open communication, and on-going feedback/improvement
Ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement
Ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner
Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
Accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
